Japanese Man Wearing Monkey Mask Arrested in Supermarket

Tomakomai, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan – October 29, 2020

“There’s a person walking around in the supermarket wearing a monkey mask,” the concerned citizen said to the police.

When the cops arrived, they found a 65-year-old man with a bag next to him, and the monkey mask on top of the bag. Searching the bag, they found a boxcutter, and the man was arrested for violation of the Firearm and Sword Control Law, which, among other things, limits the size of bladed instruments that can be carried around without a specified valid purpose.
