A Dutch family was found living in their cellar for 9 years.
A man and six young adults were found hidden in the cellar of a Dutch farmhouse after a man wandered into a local pub and explained to the pub owner that the group had lived in total isolation for nine years, “waiting for the end of time.”
The basement of the house was only accessible through a hidden staircase behind a cupboard in the living room of the farmhouse. The house itself was isolated by a canal, accessible by a single bridge, and secured by a locked gate and surveillance cameras.
